The two are going to be seen in Netflix’s upcoming series, Rana Naidu. On the same, Venkatesh revealed the real reason why he and Rana agreed for this project and no other.

“It’s not the usual kind of family drama. In a regular film, they expect being soft on him (Rana) and there are some regular songs,” Venkatesh explained, hinting at him and Rana being offered run-off-the-mill projects before Rana Naidu came their way.

This project’s greater gravity was the reason Venkatesh and Rana had faith in Rana Naidu, he said. He stated: “He’s (Rana has) done a wonderful job. This was really hard-hitting with some hard-hitting dialogues. You saw some of them that this poor guy (Rana) keeps getting. It’s really nice and I’m really glad I got to do this. There’s a lot of work in this.”

Working on a series is very different from working on a film, and it took some time for me to get used to the pace and style of the storytelling.” The actor went on to reveal that playing a negative character was a refreshing change of pace for him and allowed him to explore new facets of his craft.

Including Surveen Chawla in the project. On the show, she portrays Naina Naidu, Sushant’s wife. In Hate Story 2, the two had earlier shared a scene but were antagonists. The show also features Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi in pivotal roles.

Although both Daggubattis are superstars in the Telugu-language industry — this is where RRR director S.S. Rajamouli operates — Rana Naidu is a Hindi-language series. Hindi-language entertainment is what Western audiences commonly refer to as “Bollywood.” The series is created by Karan Anshuman, who is perhaps best known for Prime Video’s International Emmy-nominated Inside Edge. He went on to co-create Prime Video’s most successful Indian series, the crime-drama Mirzapur. Anshuman will co-direct Rana Naidu with Suparn Verma, best known for yet another Prime Video series, The Family Man.

The trailer begins with a shot of Rana exiting his vehicle while holding a cricket bat. He has been asked to “sort” out a problem as only he can by someone. In the two and a half minute trailer, we see him use his special set of abilities in a number of challenging situations involving politicians, movie personalities, gangsters, and business people.

The series will be released on Netflix on March 10, and will also be available in the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
