DJ ChiChi Signs New Deal With BlacVolta Talent Management

The male-dominated DJ business still has a lot of room for change, despite the increase in female representation.

Blacvolta Talent Management has signed rising star DJ ChiChi , who will add new energy to the industry’s male-dominated landscape. The talent management team says their ” proud to announce the signing of ChiChi, a rising star in the world of DJing,” who has embodied her name with her unique sound and fresh energy into the game of djing.

These women have made names for themselves in a field that is dominated by men and have attained notoriety and fame that unmistakably identify them as some of the best in the industry.

ChiChi has been making waves in the male-dominated industry, carving out a name for herself in the music scene in Accra, Ghana. According to BlacVolta their much excited in signing her as they aim to reach new audience with ChiChi in collaboration with her sounds.

ChiChi’s path to becoming a DJ began with a love of music and a desire for more female representation in the business. After observing male DJs at Accra events, she resolved to take matters into her own hands and master the craft herself. ChiChi quickly mastered the Serato DJ program with the assistance of one of Ghana’s top DJs, @djslybeatz, and started performing at events throughout the city.

“I used to hang out almost every weekend in Accra, watching and observing how DJ’s worked and how the crowds responded to the music. I realized that there was a gap, where a lot of females were not headlining the big events in the city. “During the 2021 Christmas festivities, I watched how Uncle Waffles took over the city with her craft and that is when I decided to learn how to DJ and how to conduct myself like the star that I was going to become,” she says.

DJ ChiChi poised to change Ghana's music scene

Since making her debut at Rose Sundays, one of Accra’s most famous events, ChiChi has grown in recognition as one of the top DJs in the industry. She defies categorization by playing a variety of styles, such as HipHop, Aftobeatz, Dancehall, Bashment, and Amapiano. Like recently, she opened for Wande Coal at his concert in Ghana in June 2022 at Elites Bar , further cementing her place as a rising star in the industry.  “I can rock to anything,” she said.
