At a press conference on Thursday morning, HBO President Casey Bloys said that “Euphoria” Season 3 would premiere in 2025.
The news was confirmed in a “Coming in 2025” sizzle reel shown at a press event, alongside The Last of Us Season 2 and The White Lotus Season 3.
This news isn’t a huge surprise after HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi told Deadline in May that Euphoria Season 3 would “ideally” be released sometime in 2025. “We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam [Levinson],” Orsi said.
Not much else has been revealed about the upcoming third season of “Euphoria,” except for Levinson teasing in August that he views the next batch of episodes as a “film noir.” The showrunner said that through the eyes of Zendaya’s Rue, he will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
HBO has also confirmed that we won’t see how that Season 2 cliffhanger resolves until 2025, and aside from the confirmation that Barbie Ferreira will not appear in the new season, we don’t know much else about what will happen in the third season. Right now, all we can do is wait.
There have been no additional casting announcements made as of yet, except than Ferreira’s departure. Presumably, Angus Cloud, Colman Domingo, Eric Dane, Storm Reid, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, and Hunter Schafer will all be back.
“Euphoria” stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud, Barbie Ferreira and Dominic Fike as troubled high schoolers caught up in a world of drugs, love and crime.
