The third season of Bridgerton will premiere on Netflix on March 31.
In 2024, the popular Shonda Rhimes television series will make a comeback, releasing episodes in two installments. Season three’s first installment will debut on Netflix on May 16 and the second installment on June 13.
And it’s #Polin season again. That’s right; the third season of the show is all about Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), who are inspired by Julia Quinn’s writings about the Bridgertons’ lives and romantic ambitions during England’s Regency era.
Today, December 12, Netflix UK made the disclosure via their official Twitter account. A teaser video was also released, confirming the dates.
“Rejoice in this most thrilling news,” read the caption, direct from Lady Whistledown herself.
A few of Ton’s favorite characters may be seen in the teaser film, inquiring about the location of the Bridgerton family and the notorious narrator of the show.

The clips are interspersed with tweets from fans wanting details about Bridgerton season 3. “I need Bridgerton season 3 right now,” reads one tweet, with another stating, “We need some season 3 crumbs like water in a draught #Bridgerton.”
After sharing some further fan reels, a previously seen clip of Lady Danbury uttering “I have some news” to Queen Charlotte is shown.
“The wait is nearly over,” reads the text, revealing the two release dates.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a season three release date ever since the second season dropped in late March 2022.
Filming for the third season began in July 2022, though it wasn’t until a year later that viewers were treated to first-look images of the upcoming episodes.
The third installment of the hit Netflix show, based on the novels by Julia Quinn, will follow the romantic relationship of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington (who also happens to be Lady Whistledown).
Bridgerton seasons one and two and the prequel series Queen Charlotte are available now on Netflix. Bridgerton season three will be released on May 16, 2024.
New Leading Man
Like seasons one and two, which featured Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) as leads, season three thrusts a different Bridgerton sibling into the spotlight: Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Colin’s other half for season three? Longtime friend Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Season three will follow the events of Julia Quinn‘s novel, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, which follows Colin as he finally realizes that Penelope is worth courting and falling in love with.
Nicola confirmed this to be true in May, telling the crowd at Netflix’s ATAS panel, “Like Lady Whistledown, I have been keeping a secret for quite some time, and I can confirm to you all that season three is Colin and Penelope’s love story. I have kept that secret since two weeks into season two. This is the first time I am saying it here.”
