Gucci Ancora in Tokyo: Rina Sawayama, Rinko Kikuchi, Mari Natsuki, and more Stuns on the Red Carpet

To celebrate the launch of Sabato de Sarno’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, an exclusive event and gallery will be held in Tokyo.

In celebration of the launch of Sabato de Sarno‘s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, an exclusive event and gallery was held at the National Stadium in Tokyo.

This spring, Gucci begins a new chapter with the launch of Creative Director Sabato de Sarno’s first collection (Spring/Summer 2024 Women’s Collection). The collection, announced last September under the name “Gucci Ancora.”

Gucci Ancora has taken the streets of cities around the world by storm, becoming a testament to fashion’s enduring appeal and bringing to life Ancora, the endless possibilities that arise when you fall in love with fashion.

To launch this collection, Gucci will hold events in major cities around the world where you can experience the essence of Gucci Ancora. From February to March, eye-catching takeovers and activations will take place in major cities around the world, starting with New York and starting with Shanghai. Each city becomes a canvas on which Gucci Ancora’s vision comes to life through immersive experiences that are effectively combined and staged.

As part of this effort, we held a Gucci Ancora special event at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Friday, March 1st. Furthermore, from March 2nd (Sat) to March 7th (Thursday), the “Gucci Ancora Pop-Up Gallery” will appear on Cat Street in Omotesando as a place where you can freely experience the world of Gucci Ancora. .

This multi-screen gallery displays images of Sabato de Sarno’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, showcasing Gucci’s exploration of fashion and art through Gucci’s book series Gucci Prospettive and interactive VR (virtual reality) content. You can experience dialogue, and the attached cafe stand offers original drinks. During the same period, Gucci Ancora limited edition postcards featuring visuals from the Spring/Summer 2024 advertising campaign will be distributed at this gallery and other carefully selected art spots in Tokyo.

For the Gucci Ancora special event, the exclusive indoor practice track and entrance of the National Stadium were colored in the Rosso Ancora colors that symbolize Gucci’s new chapter, and transformed into an immersive stage and lounge for one night only.

In addition, Gucci’s global brand ambassador Jun Shison and other luxurious guests gathered, as well as globally active actor and artist Rina Sawayama and Shinichi Osawa (MONDO GROSSO / RHYME). A special performance by SO) was performed, inviting guests to a world full of creativity where music, fashion, and art interact.

Additionally, pop-up shops featuring the 2024 Spring/Summer Women’s Collection will be held at Hankyu Umeda Main Store and Isetan Shinjuku Store. 

They have a wide range of categories, including the clothes, handbags, and shoes that appeared on the Gucci Ancora runway, the debut fashion show of creative director Sabato de Sarno, as well as exclusive items that are available only in advance and at the Pop-Up shop.
