Prince Bright Reveals New Collaboration “Back to Sender” with Stonebwoy

The music scene in Ghana is buzzing with excitement over the recent collaboration between two of the country’s biggest stars in the Afrobeats, hip-hop, reggae-dancehall, and afrodancehall genres.

Prince Bright, the sole surviving member of the legendary hiplife music group Buk Bak, has joined forces with reggae-dancehall icon and afrodancehall pioneer Stonebwoy on a highly anticipated new single titled “Back to Sender.”

As the last active member of Buk Bak, one of the most influential hiplife groups that pioneered the genre in 1998, Prince Bright carries the torch of their groundbreaking legacy. His smooth melodies and poignant lyrics.

Meanwhile, Stonebwoy rose to international stardom after being the first artist of his kind to win a BET Award in 2015 and has subsequently won many other international awards, such as Afrima, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award, as well as receiving nominations from MTV EMA, Grammy’s Awards, MOBO, and more, with his distinctive blend of reggae, dancehall, and afrobeats.

As two Ghanaian music heavyweights at the top of their game come together in the studio, the collaboration symbolizes the continuity between classic hiplife and modern Afrobeats. They light up the track with a strong gust of optimism as the two stars uplift their audience through lyrics like “You dey wish for my downfall say make I enter for the gutter. Naaey” and “Say my bread I go always butter/Jah rise and me enemy scatter.”

Fans are hailing “Back to Sender” as an instant hit that seamlessly fuses genres and generations.

According to Prince Bright, ‘Back To Sender (Taamiawu)’ is meant to address the struggles we go through. It is also the first single taken off his forthcoming EP, “Infinity,” with Stonebwoy.
