Amaarae Will Not Perform At the #25thTGMA; Cites Technical Rider Issues
With rehearsal time now severely limited due to these delays, Amaarae and her team ultimately concluded they had no choice but to withdraw, as they could not ensure the level of performance quality and technical execution that both Amaarae and her devoted fans have come to expect.

Amaarae, the acclaimed Ghanaian singer and songwriter, has made the difficult decision to withdraw from performing at the highly anticipated 25th edition of the prestigious Telecal Ghana Music Awards ceremony.
The decision comes after a series of frustrating technical and logistical challenges that have plagued the planning and preparation for her performance. According to Amaarae’s team, there were significant issues with the event organizers’ ability to properly accommodate the technical rider and production requirements necessary for her elaborate stage show.
“I flew a team of 10 people – my whole audio tech, visual & tour management team 12 hours straight from stage in Barcelona to Ghana, got Primavera to change my performance date from June 1 to May 30th so I could travel to Ghana yesterday (May 31st) only to get to rehearsals at TGMA last night for their Production Manager to tell my engineers that not only did he not fulfill our technical rider request (which they asked for and we provided in April and which we had been chasing up for weeks) but also that rehearsals are 3 hours behind (I didn’t get a rehearsal last night).”
Despite repeated attempts to work collaboratively with the production manager and event staff, Amaarae’s team alleges there were persistent communication breakdowns and an apparent inability to resolve the technical concerns in a timely manner.
“To top it all off their Production Manager was not picking my Manager, TM & FOH engineers calls this morning to see if they were going to be able to track down the equipment we need . As a result, I have sadly had to pull out of performing at the TGMAs.”
With rehearsal time now severely limited due to these delays, Amaarae and her team ultimately concluded they had no choice but to withdraw, as they could not ensure the level of performance quality and technical execution that both Amaarae and her devoted fans have come to expect.
“For 3 years now, I have tried so hard to perform at the Ghana Music Awards. Their CEO and my Management have worked hard to make it happen and finally we were able to align this year – only for my team to be completely ignored and frustrated by their production manager. “
This is undoubtedly a disappointment for the TGMA organizers and attendees who were eager to witness Amaarae’s captivating live show, but the artist’s team felt they had to prioritize the integrity of the performance above all else.
Amaarae has expressed her regret at not being able to take the TGMA stage as planned, but has promised to make it up to her Ghanaian fans in the near future through alternative performance opportunities.
“We spent a lot of money to come here only to be incredibly disrespected by the Charter House production team. But it is what it is and I like to stay positive and take things in stride – Man proposes, God disposes! “
