Celine DionĀ is back in the public eye!

The 56-year-old singer made her red carpet return at the premiere of the new documentaryĀ I Am: Celine DionĀ on Monday night (June 17) at Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

CelineĀ was joined on the carpet by her 23-year-old sonĀ Rene-Charles Angelil, as well as documentary directorĀ Irene Taylor BrodskyĀ and Amazon Studios execĀ Jennifer Salke.

“I’m not dead,” the singer told AFP on the red carpet ahead of the premiere of the new documentary “I Am: Celine Dion” that focuses on her soaring career and more recent struggles with a rare neurological disorder that has hampered her ability to perform.

Aside from Celineā€™s surprise appearance at the Grammys earlier this year, where she skipped the red carpet, this is her first major public appearance since early 2020.

The new documentary gives us a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the iconic superstarā€™s struggle with a life-altering illness. Serving as a love letter to her fans, this inspirational documentary highlights the music that has guided her life while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit.

“When life imposes something on you, you have two options. You deal with it or you don’t want to deal with it,” Dion said, calling her decision to speak out about her condition in the documentary both “the greatest gift and the greatest responsibility.”

“It’s not going to go away,” she said of the disorder. “I’m going to have to deal with this. And I am.”

I Am: Celine DionĀ will be released on Prime Video on June 25. A limited theatrical release will happen this weekend.Ā Watch the trailer below!
