Country Music Star Lainey Wilson Handles Wardrobe Malfunction Like a Pro During Performance At Faster Horses Festival | Video

Grammy-Award winning country star, Lainey Wilson handled a wardrobe malfunction on stage like a total pro.

The rising country music star, who has also appeared on the hit show “Yellowstone,” performed at the Faster Horses Festival in Michigan on Saturday. During the show, her pants split open.

The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer slipped backstage, microphone still in hand and asked the crowd to give her a minute for a wardrobe change, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Wilson didn’t freak out, though, calmly switching her outfit and even making a joke about it to the crowd.

“You just about got a real show. A real show. There’s a first time for everything, and I’m glad it was you all that I split my pants wide open in front of,” she said.

After switching out her signature bell bottoms for a pair of replacement jeans, Wilson admitted she would have never noticed the wardrobe issue, had staff members not alerted her.

“I’ll tell you what, try and put on some jeans when you sweatin, it ain’t fun,” Wilson added. “You gotta jump in them things.”

This past weekends Faster Horses Music Festival attracted some of the biggest names in county music, including Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll. The three-day festival, held at Michigan International Speedway, is among the top country music events of the year.

A slight wardrobe malfunction didn’t stop Wilson from delivering a memorable performance. Later into evening, the CMA Award winner brought a lucky fan onstage for a few words of encouragement. Wilson requested the young fan repeat an empowering mantra before naming her as the “cowgirl of the night.”

Wilson rounded out her set with her biggest hits — “Things a Man Oughta Know,” “Heart Like a Truck,” “Watermelon Moonshine” and more. Other performers on Saturday included Old Dominion, Shane Smith and the Saints, Sawyer Brown, and Alexandria Kay.

Hey, if you’re going to have a wardrobe malfunction on stage – and especially one that involves a splitting of pants – that’s about as well as you can handle it.

There’s a reason why Wilson is so beloved and she showed it through some adversity on stage over the weekend.
