Jean Smart is set to kick off Saturday Night Live’s fiftieth-season celebrations as the host of the first episode of the season next week. Smart, hot on the heels of her Emmy win, will host the show alongside musician Jelly Roll.
Smart expressed her excitement on Instagram, writing, “SO EXCITED!!! Bucket list!” Jelly Roll, equally thrilled, posted, “BRB going to cry for a few hours and call every family member I have“.
Comedian Nate Bargatze, who previously hosted the show last year, will return on October 5th with the British rock band Coldplay as his musical guest.
The following week, on October 12th, pop sensation Ariana Grande will take the stage alongside Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks. This marks Ariana Grande’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live since 2016.
On October 19th, ‘Beetlejuice’ star Michael Keaton will host, with Billie Eilish serving as the musical guest.
The final episode announced will air on Nov. 2, featuring former cast member John Mulaney as the host, alongside Chappell Roan, who will make her SNL debut. This landmark season also sees several cast changes, including promotions for Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker, and new additions Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline.
