The Euphoria actor shared a two-part carousel post on Instagram this week to reveal a total transformation into her new role playing legendary boxer and Hall of Famer, Christy Martin.
“Filming has been an unforgettable experience so far,” Sydney told Cosmopolitan of the vibes on set. “We have such an amazing North Carolina crew working so hard. Having Christy in my corner during all of this is truly incredible—I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Sydney has undergone a dramatic transformation, switching out her trademark long blonde locks for a curly brunette pony, complete with a fringe.
Sydney first posted her amazing Christy pictures from set on Instagram this week.
“Well the cats out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film im working on right now. over the past few months, i’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring. her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. more to come soon 🙂 CHRISTY MARTIN,” Sydney wrote to caption the images.
The biopic will be directed by David Michôd and star Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, and Katy O’Brian alongside Sydney, that the film is expected to shed light on Martin’s impact on women’s boxing and her strength in overcoming personal challenges.
