After weeks of teasing, the BLACKPINK star has finally announced her debut solo album, “Alter Ego,” is set to release Feb. 28 in a teaser video Tuesday. The eagerly anticipated album will be the K-Pop star’s first as an independent artist outside of the renowned K-pop group.
She had been hinting at a big project after a string of extremely popular singles in 2024. After keeping fans on their toes about her new mystery project, the 27-year-old superstar finally announced her debut solo album on November 19, confirming that it will drop on February 28, 2025.
LISA also dropped a visually stunning three-minute album trailer on her LLOUD YouTube channel, taking viewers on a surreal journey through five distinct landscapes that, according to a press release via Billboard, represent the different characters she embodies on the album.
From a volcanic runway to a futuristic cyberpunk catwalk, each scene reflects a unique personality, tied together by a star emblem, symbolising the five different aspects of LISA.
The album follows a series of successful singles released in 2024, including Rockstar, which charted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In a recent interview with Billboard, LISA revealed how much attention she’s poured into the project, saying, “I think they’re going to be shocked at how capable I am [at] doing so many things.”
