Originally scheduled from January 10 to 12 in Los Angeles, the event was delayed as Selena’s team expressed their concern for the current crisis and emphasised prioritising the safety of everyone involved.

On Thursday, January 9, Selena posted the announcement on her Instagram Stories: “We are devastated to see the impact the wildfires continue to have on our community in Los Angeles. The safety and well-being of our team and community are top priorities, and with that in mind, we have decided to postpone Rare: The Pop-Up in partnership with Complex.”
Selena Gomez’s team thanked fans for their understanding and assured them that they will announce the rescheduled dates for the Rare Anniversary pop-up event soon.
Along with the statement, the 32-year-old actor-singer also shared a series of links to mental health resources, evacuation shelters, animal support, and those on the front lines.

In addition to Selena’s pop-up event, many other Hollywood events were cancelled or postponed due to the ravaging wildfires. These include the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, nominations for the 97th Academy Awards, BAFTA Tea Party, and WGA Awards nominations. Meanwhile, many film premieres, including A Better Man, Unstoppable, and The Last Showgirl, have either been pushed to a later date or cancelled.
Other celebrities, such as Chris Pratt, Mark Hamill, and Heidi Montag, have also been impacted by the fire, with some even losing their homes. The situation remains dire, with strong winds fueling the flames.
