Stonebwoy, Beeztrap Kotm & more tops the 26th TGMAs nominations: See complete list
Flowking Stone, Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Eno Barony, Kweku Smoke and Lyrical Joe also battle it out for the Best Rap Performance category.
The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has released its candidates. The nominees announcement took place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre, with nominations for all categories disclosed.
With several categories and awards up for grabs, Stonebwoy, Kweku Smoke, Team Eternity, Joe Mettle, King Paluta, King Promise, and Black Sherif are among the finalists for the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’ award.
Flowking Stone, Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Eno Barony, Kweku Smoke and Lyrical Joe also battle it out for the Best Rap Performance category for this year, making it one of the toughest and most packed categories.
This year’s “Telecel’s Most Popular Song of the Year” category has also been occupied by tough competition from OliveTheBoy: ‘Asylum’, King Promise: ‘Paris,’ KiDi ft. Black Sherif: ‘Lomo Lomo,’ Fameye: ‘Very Soon,’ Stonebwoy: ‘Jejereje,’ King Paluta; ‘Aseda,’ Lasmid: ‘Puul,’ Team Eternity Ghana: ‘Defe Defe,’ and Black Sherif’s ‘January 9.’
But there are more concerns about King Paluta’s one of, if not the most popular, hit songs ‘Makoma’ under the year review missing out in the “Telecel’s Most Popular Song of the Year” category, with music experts and fans citing it be due to some profanity lyrics involved—and if so, then the award scheme might just be finding themselves in trouble, as past events and nominations once included profane lyrics in their nominations.
The major award ceremony, “GHANA MUSIC’s BIGGEST NIGHT,” is set to take place on May 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
