Ghana’s own reggae-dancehall superstar Stonebwoy made an appearance at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, proudly representing his home country at the prestigious AFRIMA 2025 “Music Beyond Borders” Conference.
The serene and successful event saw the official announcement of Lagos State, Nigeria, as the next host city for the highly anticipated All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) in 2025. Slated to take place from November 25-30, 2025, under the inspiring theme “Unstoppable Africa,” AFRIMA 2025 promises to be a groundbreaking celebration of African music, culture and unity.
Stonebwoy, in his submission stated, “You have to have an artiste who is Pan-African at heart. AFRIMA has always called on me, and I’ve always shifted things away to be here.”
Mark your calendars, as the entry portal for the 2025 award scheme is set to open on May 27 and will close on August 8, giving African artists a golden opportunity to showcase their incredible talent on a global stage.
The journey to AFRIMA 2025 is already underway, with key dates locked in: the adjudication process will run from August 12-19, followed by the highly anticipated nominee announcement on August 27. Public voting will commence on September 5 and continue until November 28, allowing music lovers from across the continent and beyond to have their say in determining the winners.
AFRIMA 2025 is set to be a truly unforgettable experience, with over 1,600 nominees, 60,000+ visitors and delegates, 2,300+ production crew members, and an astounding 400 million+ global viewers tuning in to witness the magic.
