Gentlemen of the emotionally stunted variety, consider yourselves warned: Sabrina Carpenter is armed and dangerous—with a banger. On Friday, she dropped her latest single, Manchild,” a gleeful rodeo of sass and satire for anyone who’s ever dated a hot-but-hopeless himbo. With biting lyrics like “Why so sexy if so dumb?” and “I like my men all incompetent,” Carpenter isn’t just calling out a type—she’s dragging it down Main Street in rhinestone spurs.

The music video, also released Friday, is pure camp-western chaos. Clad in sky-high heels and Daisy Dukes, Carpenter thumb-hitches her way through a desert wasteland of dimwitted eye candy. She sips red wine through a straw, smokes a cigarette using a fork, and lounges in a hot tub full of literal pigs. Imagine if Quentin Tarantino directed a Dolly Parton fever dream or if Thelma & Louise soundtracked their final joyride with early-era Taylor Swift.

A running tally of vehicles she rides in the video includes a car, a truck, another truck (while clinging to the back on roller skates), a motorized leather recliner, a Jet Ski on wheels, and a shopping cart tethered to a motorcycle.

Carpenter described “Manchild” on social media as “the embodiment of a loving eye roll” and encouraged fans to “stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long.” She even gave a cheeky shout-out to her muses: “Thank you, men, for testing me!!” Is this shade aimed at rumored beau Barry Keoghan? Hard to say. But if heartbreak and himbos brought us this delightfully unhinged anthem, then hats off to the manchildren—your legacy lives on.
