Ashanti, T.I. & Bow WOW & More Open 2025 BET Awards with Nostalgic ‘106 & Park’ Tribute

The 2025 BET Awards was in full swing, and the nostalgia is real! The ceremony kicked off with a star-studded tribute to the iconic BET show ‘106 & Park,’ bringing back memories of sitting in front of the TV after school, eagerly waiting for the latest music videos and performances.
The night began with Ashanti slaying the stage with her hits “Rock Wit U” and “Foolish.” The singer’s signature thigh-high boots gleamed under the lights, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. She was followed by Jim Jones, who rocked the venue with his Billboard Hot 100 top 40 hit “We Fly High (Ballin’),” complete with a memorable jump shot routine alongside Nick Cannon.
The ladies took center stage next, with Amerie performing her timeless hit “1 Thing,” followed by Mya‘s “Case of the Ex” and Keyshia Cole’s “I Should Have Cheated.” The trio brought the house down with their powerful vocals and toxic love anthems.
T.I. made a special appearance, coming out of retirement to perform his trap hits “Bring Em Out” and “What You Know.” The Atlanta-bred pioneer brought the energy, celebrating 25 years of the BET Awards.
The boy band B2K also reunited, performing their smash hit “Bump, Bump, Bump” in all-white attire. Bow Wow, a staple of ‘106 & Park,’ brought the energy with his hit “Like You,” and was even joined by So So Def boss Jermaine Dupri for a surprise performance of “Fresh Az I’m Iz.”
The tribute was complete with the reunion of ‘106 & Park’ co-hosts Terrence J, Free, and Julissa Bermudez on stage, paying tribute to the platform that helped launch their careers. The 2025 BET Awards are certainly packing on the nostalgia, and it’s clear that ‘106 & Park’ holds a special place in the hearts of many.
