Miley Cyrus stunned fans with a surprise appearance at Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter concert at Paris’ Stade de France on Thursday (June 19).
Without any prior hint, the “Flowers” singer joined Queen Bey onstage for the live debut of their hit “II Most Wanted,” currently sitting at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The pair lit up the stage in matching gold outfits, effortlessly trading verses and harmonizing through the emotionally rich track.
“Didn’t know what I wanted ’til I saw your face / Say goodbye to the old me,” Beyoncé opened, with Cyrus stepping in to carry the chorus as the crowd erupted.
Following the performance, Miley took to Instagram the next day (June 20) to share her gratitude and excitement. “@beyonce to be beside such a humble, gracious, legendary DIVA was a dream come true,” she wrote. “To have learned from you & loved you my whole life, & then be standing together in matching gold looks is more than I could’ve imagined… I’ll be your shotgun rider for life.” Her post included a video of their performance and behind-the-scenes snapshots of the magical night.
In another clip, Miley strutted backstage in a gold Alexander McQueen bodysuit, saying with a playful grin, “Little ol’ me showing up in Paris in Alexander McQueen for Queen Bey. What?”
The three-time Grammy winner was already in Paris for an intimate Spotify Billions Club Live performance, which took place on Wednesday. During the set—which will be turned into a concert film—the pop star performed some of her biggest hits on the music streaming platform and also did a surprise mashup of “The Climb” and “We Can’t Stop.”
On June 20, the “Cuff It” artist also shared a series of images from her duet with Cyrus on Instagram.
“II Most Wanted” was featured on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album, which was released in March 2024 and won a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Cyrus opened up about the making of “II Most Wanted” in a June 2024 cover story interview with W Magazine, which she called “a dream come true.”
