Big news in the reggae world—Jamaican singer and songwriter Protoje just confirmed that Lila Iké’s long-awaited album is finally finished!
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Protoje shared the exciting update, sending fans into a frenzy. Lila herself couldn’t contain the excitement, reposting the news with a simple but powerful “FINALLY” and a string of blue heart emojis. She doubled down on Instagram, declaring, “‼️THIS IS NOT A DRILL‼️.”
This marks a major milestone for Lila Iké, whose rich vocals and conscious lyrics have built a loyal following. Though no official release date has been announced, the confirmation is enough to get fans buzzing and ready.
Lila Iké’s most recent full-length release is her debut studio album, The ExPerience, which came out in May 2020. Since then, she’s dropped several standalone singles and collaborations—like “Wanted” (June 2022), “Fry Plantain” featuring Joey Bada$$ (2024), “He Loves Us Both” featuring H.E.R. (May 2024), and “Too Late To Lie“ (February 2025)—but no follow-up album until now.
With Protoje’s recent announcement that Lila Iké’s new album is officially done, fans are now waiting on what will be her second full-length release.
