Dolly Parton is clearing the air—and doing it with her trademark wit and charm!
After a wave of concern from fans over her health, the 79-year-old country music legend took to Instagram to reassure everyone that she’s doing just fine. In a playful new video filmed while shooting commercials for the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Dolly laughed off the rumors, saying, “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard!”
The “9 to 5” singer explained that a few minor medical issues—including a kidney stone — recently caused her to cancel a Dollywood appearance, but she’s now feeling much better.
“There’s a lot of rumors flying around,” she said. “But if you heard it from me, you’ll know I’m okay. I’m not ready to die yet — I don’t think God’s through with me, and I ain’t done working!”
Dolly even poked fun at a viral AI-generated image showing her and Reba McEntire “ready to be buried,” laughing it off with her signature humor.

After the country singer shared the news, fans breathed a collective sigh of relief and flooded social media with messages of excitement and support.
One admirer gushed, “Love u, Dolly!! Keep on shining and sharing your light with us all. You’re a national treasure, and we appreciate what you bring to the world. Music, philanthropy, grace, joy, and all.
A second person expressed relief and gratitude about the news and added they would still offer prayers for the music icon. While a third individual noted that Dolly’s sister had caused a brief panic, another pointed out that Parton looked healthy.
A fifth person chimed in, “Thank the lord!!!! I ain’t ready for a world without Dolly!”
Her sister Freida Parton later clarified on Facebook that her earlier post asking for prayers was simply out of love and concern, not a sign of any serious health scare.
Freida had already stepped in to clear the air, explaining that she never intended to cause panic with her earlier post asking for prayers.
“I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious,” Freida clarified, per The Blast. “Dolly’s just been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer.”
Freida’s initial Facebook post, where she shared that she’d been up all night praying for Dolly and encouraged others to join her, quickly went viral, sparking widespread concern among fans who feared the worst for the Grammy winner.
Looks like the Queen of Country isn’t going anywhere anytime soon—and we couldn’t be happier about it!
