In a move that has set social media ablaze, Nigerian superstar and business mogul Mr Eazi just made a massive power play for the future of Ghanaian entertainment.
During his headline performance at the 7th edition of Detty Rave on December 27, 2025, the “Skin Tight” singer did the unthinkable: he paused his high-energy set to talk business—and the stakes are high. Eazi publicly pledged a staggering $2 million to develop state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor event venues in Accra.
But there’s a catch. He’s calling on the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to provide the land.
If you’ve ever been to Accra-Ghana in December, you know the vibes are unmatched, but the infrastructure is struggling to keep up. From “Detty Rave,” “Bhim Festival,” to “AfroFuture,” the city’s festive season draws tens of thousands of diaspora travelers and locals alike. However, organizers have long complained about the lack of purpose-built venues, often having to transform empty lots or car parks into temporary event spaces and even venue clashes with each other.
Mr Eazi, the man who behind emPawa Africa, is tired of the makeshift solutions.
“I want to tell Ghana Tourism that we need proper venues for events in Accra. If you think I am joking, I will drop the first $2 million,” Eazi declared to the roaring crowd at Untamed Empire.
By making this announcement on stage, Mr Eazi has turned a private business proposal into a public conversation. He admitted that authorities might doubt his seriousness, which is why he “dropped the receipt” of a $2 million commitment right then and there.
This move puts significant pressure on the Ghana Tourism Authority and the government to facilitate land allocation. If successful, this could be the largest private-sector investment in Ghana’s creative infrastructure in recent years.
This isn’t just about music; it’s about the “Eazi” way of doing business. As the founder of emPawa Africa, Eazi has consistently moved from being just a performer to an ecosystem builder. By building a permanent venue, he isn’t just hosting a party; he’s creating jobs, supporting local vendors, and ensuring that Accra remains the “Gateway to Africa” for entertainment.
As the dust settles on another successful Detty Rave, all eyes are now on the authorities.
