Twitch streamer Kyedae has opened up about the end of her long-term relationship with fellow content creator Tyson, also known as Tenz.
In a statement posted to her audience, Kyedae revealed that the two had actually been separated for some time, explaining that they ultimately realized they had “stopped growing as individuals” toward the latter part of their relationship.
She noted that for years, nearly every aspect of their lives revolved around one another, from work and hobbies to daily routines, a dynamic that eventually made it clear they needed space to rediscover themselves separately.
“For most of our relationship, we did everything together. Work – together. Hobbies and interests – together. Pretty much everything – together,” Kyedae wrote.
Looking back, Kyedae reflected on how quickly their relationship progressed, sharing that they moved in together just weeks after meeting and spent their formative years, from ages 17 to 24, side by side.
“…That was all we knew,” she noted. “Over time, it became clear that we needed space to grow into our own people separately.”
While the internet often searches for drama surrounding breakups, she stressed that there was no scandal behind their decision, saying, “the truth is simple–we grew apart.”
Kyedae also clarified that there was no resentment, wrongdoing, or single event that led to the split, adding that she and Tyson still care deeply for one another and sincerely wish each other well.
The former couple, who got engaged in 2022, became especially well-known within the gaming community, particularly during Tyson’s rise as a competitive Valorant player under the name TenZ. They have been together for six years, during which Kyedae has battled leukemia.

Rumours explode with ‘gold digger’ claims
As soon as the breakup news hit, a section of social media began pointing fingers, suggesting Kyedae left TenZ after he supported her through her 2023 cancer treatment and that she somehow used him for clout, cash, or influence. Some even claimed TenZ quit professional play because of her.
After multiple posts blaming the breakup on Kyedea went viral, TenZ took to his X account to set the record straight. He emphasised that their breakup was mutual and that they still care about each other deeply. He firmly denied that Kyedae had any influence over his decision to stop playing pro Valorant, calling the idea that one “gave more” or “sacrificed more” immature and unhelpful.
He added, “I also quit playing pro of my own accord and was never influenced by her to quit. People’s goals can change over time, and that is just what happened with me. In a healthy relationship, there should never be comparisons about who sacrificed more or gave more — that mindset is immature and helps nobody.”
He also asked the community to respect Kyedae as a person, especially as she continues to deal with ongoing health challenges—and to stop fueling needless negativity around a private matter.
