We have an exciting update regarding the live-action adaptation of Tangled.
In October, Disney confirmed that it is officially moving forward with a live-action version of the 2010 animated film, originally starring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. At the time, it was also revealed that The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey is in talks to direct.
In a new report shared by The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday (December 18), the studio quietly conducted screen tests and chemistry readings in London for the parts of Rapunzel and Flynn.
Following the screen tests, multiple sources have revealed that there are four actresses on the short-list to play the Disney princess and two actors are being considered to play Flynn!
Freya Skye
Actress and singer Freya Skye is on the short-list to play Rapuznel. Earlier this year, she made her feature debut in Disney Channel’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.
Sarah Catherine Hook
Sarah Catherine Hook is on the short-list to play Rapunzel. Earlier this year, she had her breakout role in season 3 of The White Lotus.
Teagan Croft
Teagan Croft is on the short-list to play Rapunzel. The Australian actress is best known for playing Raven in the DC series Titans.
Olivia-Mai Barrett
Olivia-Mai Barrett is on the short-list to play Rapunzel. She is best known for her role in the Apple TV+ series Invasion.
Milo Manheim
Milo Manheim is reportedly one of the top 2 contenders to play Flynn. He is best known for starring in Disney Channel’s Zombies movie franchise and currently stars in the Paramount+ original School Spirits.
Charlie Gillespie
Charlie Gillespie is the other top contender to play Flynn. The Canadian actor and singer is best known for his role in the Netflix series Julie and the Phantoms and earlier this year, he appeared in the movie Splitsville.
