Sharing the news to Filipino audiences, Netflix Philippines announced the film’s release through a witty caption that asked viewers to tune in.
“Help me welcome my pinsan, everyone!” Netflix Philippines wrote. “I’ll be watching from my VIP seat for Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour, coming to Netflix on October 29.” Rodrigo herself also shared the exciting news on her official Instagram account, touting the film as the “one last stop on the GUTS World Tour!”
Fans all across the world celebrated the surprise announcement — especially those who were unable to secure tickets for her Philippine show on October 5, 2024, at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. The forthcoming show at the Philippine Arena marks the first time Rodrigo is scheduled to perform in the country, and what makes the show quite special compared to its counterparts worldwide as it marks her only ‘Silver Star Show,’ with all tickets to the concert merely priced at Php 1,500 only.
All net ticket proceeds to Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour showcase in the Philippines are set to benefit her ‘Fund 4 Good’ campaign, which aims to promote a fair and just future for women, girls, and individuals globally who are seeking reproductive healthcare freedom.
Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour kicked off earlier this February 23, 2024, in Palm Springs, California, and is scheduled to conclude later this month on October 22, 2024, in Sydney, Australia.
The world tour comes in support of her sophomore album of the same name, which immediately charted on the top of the Billboard 200 upon release and was recognized as one of the most critically and commercial studio albums of 2023.
