British musician Labrinth has dramatically distanced himself from the hit HBO teen drama Euphoria, sparking speculation about turmoil behind the scenes of the widely acclaimed series.
The singer and composer made the shock move in a blunt Instagram post on Friday, March 13, where he openly criticised both the show and Columbia Records, the label that released the series’ soundtrack. In the post, Labrinth wrote: “Fck Columbia,” followed by “Double Fck Euphoria,” before concluding with “I’m out. Thank you and good night.”

The post immediately set off a wave of reactions from fans, given Labrinth’s central role in shaping the show’s sound and emotional tone. His music for the first two seasons of Euphoria became one of the series’ defining elements, helping create its dark, atmospheric mood and earning him an Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the soundtrack.
The situation appears especially surprising because only last year HBO revealed that legendary film composer Hans Zimmer would join Labrinth to work on the soundtrack for the show’s third season. At the time, Labrinth welcomed the collaboration enthusiastically, calling it “another chapter in the Euphoria universe” and adding that it was “so great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season.”
Zimmer also praised the partnership, noting that Labrinth’s music had already helped define the show’s identity. He said he looked forward to contributing to the evolving story and helping shape the new season through music.
For now, it remains unclear what triggered the apparent fallout between Labrinth and the production team. It is also uncertain whether any of the music he worked on for the upcoming season will still appear in the show.
Euphoria first premiered in 2019 and quickly became one of HBO’s most talked-about dramas, following a group of teenagers navigating issues such as drugs, sex, relationships, and identity. The series also helped launch several young actors into major Hollywood careers, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer.
The third season of Euphoria is currently scheduled to premiere on April 12, 2026. Whether Labrinth will remain part of that musical journey is now one of the biggest questions surrounding the show.
