Spotted on daytime TV but clearly meant for the group chat: Ayra Starr just soft-launched her next era in the most casual way possible—and yes, the timeline is already spiralling.
Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has officially sent the “Mobstars” into a frenzy! During a high-energy appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show this week, the 23-year-old Nigerian superstar revealed the title and release window for her highly anticipated third studio album.
Seated across from Jennifer Hudson, the “Rush” singer dropped the exclusive news that her next body of work is titled “Starr Girl” and is set to drop in July 2026.
“You hear it here first,” she told the cheering audience. “My album, ‘Starr Girl’… that’s me by the way, ‘Starr Girl’. It drops in July!”
The singer-songwriter, who recently took home the Best International Act trophy at the 2026 MOBO Awards, shared that this project holds a special place in her heart. “I’m so proud of this body of work. I’ve put everything into it,” she added. “I’m so happy I made that album and I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
Starr Girl marks a significant pivot for the Mavin Records star. While her previous albums followed a chronological naming pattern (19 & Dangerous and The Year I Turned 21), this new title signals a move toward a broader artistic concept.
Fans have already had a taste of what’s to come. Ayra released “Where Do We Go” in March 2026, a track she also performed live on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The single showcases a shift toward a dancehall-inflected pop sound, signalling her intent to further dominate the global music charts.
