Fans of Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeat star Kuami Eugene may have a major project to look forward to before the end of the year.
During a recent television [TV3 Ghana] appearance, the award-winning singer and songwriter strongly hinted that he is preparing to release a brand-new full-length album in the coming months.
In the interview, Kuami Eugene revealed that he has been receiving numerous partnership requests from several major international record labels. These labels are particularly interested in a full album project, showcasing the global appeal of his music. While he had previously released singles like “Sweet Boy,” he chose not to sign away the rights to those pieces, opting instead to focus on his upcoming album.
Kuami Eugene also reflected on his past successes, mentioning his previous albums: Rockstar; his debut album that launched him into stardom, Afro Highlife; a project that further solidified his place in the industry., and introduce a new ‘Gen Z’ kond of highlife, and Love and Chaos; his most recent album, featuring popular tracks like “Monica” and “Abena.”
With three major bodies of work already under his belt, the artist expressed his desire to be even more prolific, even suggesting he might aim for two albums in a single year, siting Shatta Wale, who releases almost 100 song in year.
As the year progresses, more details about the album’s title, tracklist, and official release date are sure to emerge.
