It’s that time of year again, when singers, dancers, acrobats, and everyone in between gather for one of the country’s biggest talent showcases. Britain’s Got Talent returns to film at the Lowry this week, with talented hopefuls gathering to show the judges what they’ve got.
One viral photo on the internet has Ghanaian viral phenomenon afrodancers who landed in Manchester with only a few people knowing why they were there.
According to Britain’s Got Talent social media feeds, even the Manchester rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of Ghanaian afrodancers, stargyal Afronitaa and TV3’s Talented Kids season 14 alum and winner, Abigail, as they auditioned for the all-new season of Britain’s Got Talent.
Britain’s Got Talent team posted a photo of Afronita and Abigail after their performance with the caption,
“This talent SHINES so bright even the Manchester rain couldn’t stop it! ☀️ #BGT.”

Afronitaa reacts to news after BGT posted the images, stating how grateful she is to be the first Ghanaian dancer(s) to perform on the Britains Got Talent stage, and she’s in it to make history.

Outside the theatre building, in Salford Quays, hundreds of people including families, couples and life-long friends, huddled under coats and brollies in the Manchester rain in order to grab a ticket into the audience.
While the BGT hosts, Ant and Dec, and judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli, were already inside, fans couldn’t wait to see the stars.
Other die-hard followers were ecstatic by the chance of seeing a possible winner.

Lucy, from Preston, said that she came to the auditions last year – and saw the 2023 winner, Viggo Venn. “It was brilliant – everyone was up and loving it.”
“We also saw a golden buzzer act and that was amazing. The atmosphere in there in really good and the judges are really nice. It’s just a really fun thing.”
Nicola, from Stoke-on-Trent, who came last year with her two teenage daughters said they loved it that much they wanted to come back.
“It was really good, we had such a good time so we decided to come again,” she said.
“I like the magicians, it’s something different. We were just looking in through the door into the theatre and we’ve seen what looks like a cheerleading group so we are really looking forward to that.
“We are three rows from the front, so that’ll be really good. We can’t wait!”
As the queue snaked its way round in the drizzle, Tom and his uncle, from North Wales, were over the moon to be back. “We’re so excited – we can’t wait!” They were then swiftly moved on as tickets were handed out.
Others were more excited to see the beloved hosts of the talent show.

Despite the slight delay due to the previous auditions over-running, it didn’t dampen their spirits.
“Last year we were sat behind Simon Cowell. He kept nipping out and coming back, and nipping out, and then he came over to chat to us – we couldn’t believe it,” Lisa said.
