Pop icon Beyoncé has officially announced her surprise: she will be headlining the NFL’s halftime show on Christmas Day. The historic performance is set to take place during the highly anticipated matchup between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens, one of two NFL games scheduled for the holiday.

In an exciting twist for football fans, the second game featuring the Kansas City Chiefs against the Pittsburgh Steelers will be streamed exclusively on Netflix. The bold move represents a significant change in how NFL games are broadcast as Netflix expands its reach into live sports, promising an innovative viewing experience.

Beyoncé’s halftime show is generating immense buzz, as it will mark her first live performance of tracks from her latest album, “Cowboy Carter.” The album, which made its debut during this year’s Super Bowl, has captivated audiences globally and is already a commercial success as it brings together elements of country and R&B, showcasing Beyoncé’s versatility as an artist.

Beyoncé is set to make history once again with her performance, as this will be the sixth time that she has performed at an NFL halftime show.

To tease the upcoming performance, Beyoncé shared a series of eye-catching posts on social media. In the posts, Beyoncé is seen posing in a classic American car adorned with a display of roses, donning her now iconic cowboy hat, while effortlessly catching a football.

The prospect of special guest appearances joining Beyoncé on stage has also been hinted at by Netflix. Artists featured on the album could make an appearance, some of whom include Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Shaboozey, Netflix said Sunday.

Both the local broadcast channels of the participating teams and Netflix will broadcast the game starting at 4:30 p.m. ET. Earlier in the day, Netflix is also streaming a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The company says it has also secured holiday games for 2025 and 2026.
