Award-winning actress and activist Lydia Forson has issued a blistering critique of social media users weaponizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to sexually harass women. Her comments come amidst a disturbing global trend where AI tools—most notably the Grok chatbot on X (formerly Twitter)—are being used to “undress” or sexually manipulate images of women without their consent.
Taking to social media to express her disgust, Forson highlighted the predatory nature of these new technological “features” and the toxic culture that surrounds them.
Forson’s outcry follows the rollout of new image-editing capabilities on various platforms that allow users to alter photos with simple text prompts. According to the actress, the comment sections of popular posts are now flooded with users tagging AI bots to “put her in a bikini,” “undress her,” or manipulate her body.
“So the new thing is to try and get AI to undress people?” Forson wrote. “Under nearly every picture is someone telling Grok to put them in a bikini, undress or manipulate the picture somehow. Y’all are sick!”
The trend, often referred to as “nudifying,” has sparked international outrage. Reports indicate that Grok’s media tab has been inundated with AI-generated sexualized imagery, with some users even attempting to manipulate photos of minors—a move that has already triggered investigations in France, India, and the European Union.
Beyond the technology itself, Forson took aim at the mindset of the perpetrators. She noted a recurring pattern where those called out for these digital violations often react with defensive anger or “gaslighting” rather than accountability.
“But [you] will get offended when you’re called out for your predatory behavior,” she added, highlighting the irony of harassers acting as victims when challenged.
As platforms like X face mounting pressure from governments to audit their AI tools, Forson’s stance serves as a reminder that behind every “cheeky prompt” is a real person being violated.
