Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has confirmed that a highly anticipated collaboration with Afrodancehall superstar Stonebwoy is officially in the works and could be released next year, pending timing from both camps.
Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz earlier yesterday, the multiple award-winning rapper disclosed that the record is already well advanced and, in his words, has the potential to be “one of the biggest songs to drop.”
“I would want that to be out like ASAP. We were speaking about it,” Sarkodie said, revealing that only one verse remains to complete his part of the song. “I have one verse more to do. As soon as I’m done with that, we have to give it to the people.”
Sarkodie went on to praise Stonebwoy’s creative input on the track, describing the process as both exciting and challenging. According to him, Stonebwoy delivered an impressive number of hook options, making the final selection difficult.
“It’s beautiful, it’s crazy. I don’t even know… Stonebwoy did like seven hooks! I have to choose one, which is the difficult thing for me to do. He did a lot of melodies for me to pick from,” he explained.
Despite the remaining work, Sarkodie expressed strong confidence in the song’s impact once released. “It’s a great song, and I know it’s going to be one of the biggest songs to drop,” he emphasized.
However, the rapper noted that the official release will depend on alignment between both artists’ schedules. “So hopefully next year, if his timing works and my timing also works, I think we’ll have to give it to the people,” he added.
A Sarkodie–Stonebwoy collaboration has long been desired by fans of both artists, given their individual dominance across hip-hop, Afrobeats, reggae, and dancehall. If released, the record is expected to generate significant buzz both locally and internationally, marking one of the most high-profile Ghanaian collaborations in recent years.
