Gramps Morgan is bringing major vibes to West Africa!
The Morgan Heritage star has officially announced his brand-new event, the “Ghana Jamaica Homecoming Festival,” set to take over Accra on December 4–5, 2026 — and it’s already shaping up to be a must-attend moment.
According to the reggae icon, the festival isn’t just about music. It’s a full-on cultural experience designed to reconnect Africa with its global diaspora, while spotlighting youth empowerment in a big way. Expect a packed lineup of live performances, creative showcases, and high-level networking opportunities.
“This festival is a trade show and we are inviting people from Jamaica and Ghana to come together and talk trade. We will have people from the fashion industry, the food industry and agriculture industry among others. We want to create the platform so that people can come together and experience it,” Morgan told Observer Online on Saturday.
The initiative has received strong backing from Ghana’s music industry. Bessa Simons, President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), pledged institutional support.
“I assure you of MUSIGA’s unflinching support,” he said in a media release. “We pledge our resources, networks and passion to make this event a resounding success”.
Simons described the festival as a major step towards positioning Ghana as a global cultural hub, using music and shared identity as tools of international engagement.
The festival is a joint effort between Broadway Entertainment and Dadason Entertainment, with execution spearheaded by Six Degrees Africa.
“To be a part of this movement is very enlightening and encouraging. It’s more than just a festival. It’s about reconnecting. A lot of artistes will be there,” Morgan stated.
Gramps has also been showing love to Ghanaian talent, including Stonebwoy, hinting that the energy heading into December will be nothing short of electric.
With Ghana continuing to cement its status as a go-to destination for diaspora celebrations, the Ghana Jamaica Homecoming Festival could easily become one of December’s biggest highlights on the continent.
